Anyone want to throw requests at me? I haven’t really been doing much on the art end lately besides dooping around so I thought I may as well ask for requests, or any particular subjects/things/etc XD

I’m not going to guarantee quality, or a particular type of art (like sketch, painting, experiment, etc), timeliness, or even consistency, just that I’m going to execute it in…whatever fashion I feel like at that particular moment, so |D THERE YOU GO

REBLERGIN in the queue in case anyone else wants to jump in! 8UU

Thank you!! 8DD I just wanted to test it out real quick as a random shape thingy and thought mountains would be easy but I am QUITE PLEASED WITH THE RESULT |DDD OH MAN NOT GONNA LIE I looooove these shades of blue together so much!!

Tonight, I rediscovered the lasso tool.

Tonight, I rediscovered the lasso tool.

I forgot to post this the other day but I did beat Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright!! It was fun. Some of the story was fairly predictable (though holy craaaap it got dark) but overall I really enjoyed it. Also, I thought some of the music was reeeeally good |DDD

And also still working on SH: Downpour! Very slowly. I think I’m getting back to where I was originally, though I can kinda see why I stopped. Yeah, there’s this big open town but I think it’s a little frustrating to figure out where to go next without a guide. I mean some of the older games let you wander around town - like 1 & 2, after watching someone play 3 again it’s actually a lot more linear than I originally remembered - but at least they direct you a little bit more. Downpour almost has too much going on 8’DDD I mean seriously to get from Hillside into Pearl Creek you have to go to the end of one street, around the backyard (there are many houses with open backyards btw) then somehow notice the hook hidden in one corner of the yard and the ladder to pull down on the other side. I guess it wouldn’t be so bad but I’m trying to explore but there lots of enemies and I’m really really disliking the downpour mechanic…THERE ARE JUST A TON OF ENEMIES TO BEGIN WITH AND BREAKABLE WEAPONS and what constitutes as ‘being out of the rain’ and why does it last so long jfc

WELL ANYWAY in other news I DID find “The Room” in Pearl Creek so that made me very happy |DDDD

You know what, it may be still mid-September but I decided ITS NEVER TOO EARLY TO BUST OUT THE HALLOWEEN ICOOOONNNN »»:UUUUUU

THAT is a good question since I haven’t been keeping track of the new stuff for the last year I’d have to go on just what I remember off the top of my head….8|a Which is still a lot I think!

There’s….

Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy, Danganronpa, and Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies (all very text heavy)

At least 3 volumes of Hellboy, also like 3 volumes of The Strain, the comic adaptation of The Color of Magic/The Light Fantastic, The Underwater Welder, and I belieeeve I also read Trigun: Multiple Bullets within the last year (all graphic novels/manga)

Also read Understanding Comics/Making Comics by Scott McCloud at some point (I would lump these somewhere between graphic novel and textbook)

Aaaaand also read Digital Painting Techniques 1, 2, and 3,  which are part of a (fairly large at this point?) book series by 3DTotal 8|a (p. much art textbooks)

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand 101 Top Tips for Fantasy Painters by Kevin Crossley and that’s all I can think of at the moment 8||||aaa (I would also lump this under art textbook)

I usually end up reading the textbooks cover-to-cover if it’s a topic that really interests me. Fascinating stuff! They go through all sorts of different approaches and technique and things, and the interesting part is that after reading the digital painting books and then looking at an art book (for example, The Art and Design of The Desolation of Smaug) you can look at the concept art in that and be able to see/break down how the artist did some of it!

that feel when a sad happens to a character and then they play that character’s theme in music box and ohhh noooooooooooo whyyyyyyy

;AAA;

So how about some revised rules for my book lists! I figure I read so many dang textbooks and play visual novel games that I may as well give myself credit for them. XDDD

Revised Book List Rules: (9/2014)

Things that can go on the yearly booklist! (rules to be updates/added upon whenever necessary)

YES:
-Books I finished
-Short Stories/novellas*
-Anthologies that I read at least 50% of
-Textbooks/Art textbooks* (example - stuff like Color and Light by James Gurney, which I lav)

-Player Manuals for RPGs* (ie, White Wolf/World of Darkness books …I actually have a lot of these I am itching to look at again >__> )

-Visual Novel Games*
-Graphic Novels and Manga* (All books in a series should be listed all on one line)
(*Mark all these as such)

NO:
-Books I didn’t finish (except the anthology thing)
-Artbooks (unless they’re /really/ wordy for some reason? usually not the case though)
-/Really/ short comics or graphic novels

Thank you!! CCC: Since I did the sketches I figured it would be nice to do a little colored thing too! DUDE IS FUN TO DRAW. Also I forgot to mention with the animation! He doesn’t do that all the time: only when he’s like, snorting or trying to startle or intimidate someone oAAAo

surrogatelark replied to your photoset “a little painting from the other day that I finished up late last…”

a little painting from the other day that I finished up late last night! + a tiny animation. I tried to leave the normal version a fairly large size instead of working sorta small like I usually do XDDD

I absolutely LOVE the way you did the “You get the flames” bit.
My friend and I had another great idea! Would you mind possibly saying “Looks like I was…WRIGHT all along” after a non-guilty verdict?

Because of the release of PL vs. PW and because I can’t get enough of Phoenix getting pwned, can we have Professor Layton pwning Phoenix this time? Like, him saying something like “Truly one of the greatest puzzles in the world is how you managed to get a law degree and there’s not enough hint coins in the world to solve that.” Bonus points if Phoenix replies with something really immature like “Your face is a hint coin.”

Here’s some REAL Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright.
